James Bailey is a dynamic a cappella arranger, vocalist, audio engineer, vocalist and educator based in Indianapolis, Indiana! Currently pursuing a degree in Vocal Music Education with a minor in Music Recording at Ball State University, James brings a rare balance of artistic vision and logistical leadership to every project he touches.He has held multiple prominent leadership positions including Music Director and Coordinator of Unexpected Resolution, Ball State’s premier Tenor/Bass a cappella group. As a producer, he has overseen the recording, editing, and mixing of numerous projects for the group, helping define its evolving sound. In addition to his roles in Unexpected Resolution, he also was a member and held various leadership roles such as Company Manager of the Ball State University Singers, where he leads planning, scheduling, and performance coordination for one of the country’s longest-running collegiate entertainment ensembles.Within the campus community, James is a key leader in Ball State’s Association of Collegiate A Cappella (ACA), serving as both Lead Live Sound Chair and Treasurer. In these roles, he manages front-of-house sound for major performances and contributes to the planning and execution of events that support the collegiate a cappella scene across Indiana. Additionally, he works as a Summer Assistant at A Cappella Academy, where he mentors talented high school singers from around the world through intensive musical training and creative collaboration.As an arranger, James is known for his rhythmic creativity, emotional depth, and ability to write for a wide variety of group skill levels and voicings.
